1. It’s back to work for state lawmakers: the Maryland General Assembly convenes today at noon.

2. Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is holding his second budget forum tonight in Silver Spring.

3. County Council Vice President Hans Riemer and some planning department staffers are holding a meeting at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center, from 7-8:30 p.m., to discuss making downtown Bethesda more friendly for biking and walking.

4. Art lovers take note: on display at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn from now thru Feb. 27 is the Winter White exhibition. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

5. Meet Strathmore’s Artist in Residence: Chris Urquiaga performs at 7:30 p.m. at the Strathmore Mansion tonight, and again on Jan. 25.
