1.  The Wheaton Redevelopment Program and the Purple Line are on the Montgomery County Council’s agenda today. The Planning Department will also demonstrate a new online map of historical African American Communities at the Council session. You can watch the session live, here.

2. A community workshop on the proposed annexation of the Johnson property is scheduled for tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Quince Orchard High School Cafeteria, 15800 Quince Orchard Road.

3. Takoma Park is hosting a Celebration of Elders today from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is a free social to connect residents to community members and learn about the city.

4. You can play Pickleball today from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Potomac Community Recreation Center.

5. Local author M.J. O’Brien will be discussing his new book “We Shall Not Be Moved: The Jackson Woolworth’s Sit-In and the Movement it Inspired,” at Gaithersburg Library tonight at 6 p.m. A book signing will following O’Brien’s talk.
