Here are five things to know today, Aug. 7, in Montgomery County:

1. Rainy Day: Stay weather alert. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for portions of Montgomery County beginning at noon.

2. Bethesda Library Refresh: The Bethesda Library on Arlington Road is now closed for renovations. A pop-up library is scheduled to open at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center, 4805 Edgemoor Lane, Aug. 9th. According to the county’s website, the pop-up library will be open from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesdays.

3. Pool Closed: The Olney Indoor Swim Center is closed from now thru Aug. 27 for repairs and maintenance.

4. Street Beat: Commuters may experience delays at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Randolph Road, and at the intersection of Colesville Road between I-495 and Georgia Avenue this week while road and utility work is underway.

5. Farm Life:  It’s National Farmers Market Week. Find a list of farmers markets in Montgomery County here. According to Council President Roger Berliner, Montgomery County has more farmer markets than any other county in the state.
