2. One Week and Counting: Over 161,000 Montgomery County Public Schools students head back to class one week from today. Are you ready for school to start on Sept. 5th? 5. Parks and Rec Headlines: The South Germantown Splash Park is closed thru Friday. The Splash Park reopens Sept. 2- 4 for the Labor Day weekend. The Olney Indoor Swim Center is now open for swimming after two weeks of repairs. A Pop Up in Montgomery Parks make and take event is scheduled from 4 – 6 p.m. at Argyle Local Park in Silver Spring. Gaithersburg hosts Yoga in the Park from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Concert Pavilion. Finally, the recreation department is looking for volunteer youth basketball coaches for its boys and girls programs this winter.
