Good morning! Here are five things to know today, Aug. 29, in Montgomery County:

2. Montgomery College’s fall semester begins today at all three campuses. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the college.
3. Gaithersburg city officials are touring the Monarch Global Academy in Laurel with members of the Maryland Board of Education to learn about construction costs.
4. The state highway administration has been spraying herbicide along I-495 to combat non-native vegetation leaving brown patches.
5. Montgomery Parks celebrated the opening of a new Black Hill Regional Park trail Saturday.
Two more things: An after school program in Rockville, Totally Teens, for students in middle school, still has a few openings. The Olney Swim Center reopens following two weeks of cleaning and maintenance.
