Here are five things to know today, Aug. 25, in Montgomery County:

1. The National Park Service turns 101 today and entrance to all national parks today are….FREE.

2. Rockville’s Back to School Jam will be held at the Lincoln Park Community Center from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A backpack full of school supplies will be available for $2.

3. Adult Soccer Registration- Today is the last day to signup for fall adult soccer programs.

4. Montgomery Parks- is urging residents to use caution at Lake Needwood. A high level of microcystin has been detected.

5. Purple Rain, purple rain-  Silver Spring’s free outdoor summer screening series continues on Veteran’s Plaza tonight with the film Purple Rain. Screening begins at 8 p.m. rain or shine.

Oh and one last thing, free immunization clinics continue. Students entering 7, 8, 9 and 10th grade in need of required Tdap and/or MCV vaccinations are eligible to receive them free of charge today at the School Health Services Center in Rockville.
