The heat wave continues today with temperatures in the 90s and possible thunderstorms this afternoon according to the National Weather Service. Here are five more things you need to know today, Aug. 16th, in Montgomery County:

1. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett and U.S. Senator Ben Cardin are scheduled to tour the damaged buildings at the Flower Branch Apartments complex this morning. Police found a sixth body in the building debris yesterday afternoon.

2. The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation hired its first president and CEO, David Petr.

3. The Olney Swim Center will be closed for annual cleaning now through August 28th.

4. From Bethesda Beat: Pre-construction work for the Purple Line is scheduled to begin today.

5. It’s Senior Day at the Agricultural Fair today, free admission for all senior citizens 62 plus until 5 p.m.
