2. State’s Attorney John McCarthy said cell phone, hotel and financial records helped prove the state’s case against a woman and her boyfriend who killed a 73-year-old Takoma Park resident in 2014.
3. According to Bethesda Beat, Montgomery Parks officials foresee program cuts if County Executive Ike Leggett’s fiscal 2018 budget passes without an extra $1.9 million for the agency.
4. Today is National Pet Day, and there are lots of ways to celebrate that include volunteering at a local shelter; donating blankets, food and toys to an animal welfare organization; buying pet food for a neighbor; or taking pictures and posting them on Facebook or Instagram.
