Here’s your daily rundown for what’s happening today, Sept. 13, in Montgomery County, Maryland:

1. Rockville State of the City Address: Rockville City Mayor, Bridget Donnell Newton,  and City Manager, Rob DiSpirito, will talk about the state of the City of Rockville in an event hosted by the Rockville Chamber of Commerce at the F. Scott FitzgeraldTheatre beginning 8 a.m.

2. Interagency Commission on Homelessness Quarterly Meeting: The meeting will take place at the Rockville Library and begins at 3:30 p.m.

3. M-NCPPC Public Meeting:  Montgomery Parks is seeking public comment on possible locations for a proposed 15 car parking lot and trail head as part of the Planning Board-approved North Branch Hiker-Biker Trail project.

4. Elections 2017: City of Takoma Park nominated candidates for city council and mayor for the upcoming general election in Nov.

5. Master Plan of Highways & Transitways Community Meeting: The Montgomery County Planning Department is holding five public meetings in September and October to solicit feedback from the public on proposed changes to the Master Plan of Highways and Transitways (MPOHT).
