1. Lyons Sisters: Lloyd Lee Welch goes on trial in Bedford County, Virginia, for the deaths of Sheila and Katherine Lyon, who were last seen leaving the Wheaton Plaza in 1975.

2. Re-entering the Work Force: One of four seminars that discuss how women can re-enter the work force. Today’s topic: Resumes. The series takes place at the Rockville Memorial Library, 21 Maryland Ave.

3. Council Action: The Montgomery County Council interviews new health officer, Dr. Travis Gayles, as well as applications for the Board of Appeals before its regular meeting. Among the council hearings is one on a bill that would require the establishment of an inventory of burial sites in the county. The measure follows development in the Westward neighborhood where a cemetery was found under a Housing Opportunities Commission building.

4. Rapid Buses: The committee advising the county on a bus rapid transit system on U.S. 29 meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Silver Spring United Methodist Church, 33 University Blvd East.
