1. Council Session: The Montgomery County Council will meet today at 9:30 a.m. Proclamations recognizing National Cyber Security Awareness Month and the Silver Spring Zombie Walk; confirmations of the County Executive’s appointments; and a bill that would exempt certain public pools from the requirement of having a lifeguard present will be discussed. 2. Takoma Park Election: Today is the last day to request a ballot by mail.

3. Comptroller School Tour: In his role as a member of the Board of Public Works, which approves public school construction funding, Maryland Comptroller, Peter Franchot, is expected to visit Rolling Terrace Elementary School in Takoma Park and the Maryland Multicultural Youth Center in Silver Spring.
4. Markerspace Open Meeting: A makerspace meeting will be held on the second floor of Rockville Memorial Library in Studio i from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A makerspace provides tools and materials for people in the community to learn, teach and make things.
5. Holiday Supply Drive: The East County Community Center is collecting food items for those in need during the holidays.
