Five Things to Know for Oct. 30 in Montgomery County
What do you need to know for Oct. 30? Here are five things:
1. Bethesda Booming: A single controlled blast is planned between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for the MD 355/Rockville Pike Crossing Project near Walter Reed and the Medical Center Metro Station in Bethesda. A warning siren will sound about five minutes before the blast. Another siren will sound one minute before the blast. It is anticipated that minimal blast vibrations or noise from the warning sirens may be detected by people within the immediate vicinity of the blast site. There are no plans to halt vehicular or pedestrian traffic during the blast.

2. Meet the Media: Council President Roger Berliner meets with members of the media at 11:30 a.m.
3. Meet the Senator: The council has a lunchtime meeting with Sen. Benjamin Cardin.
4. Council in Committee: The County Council’s health and planning committees will consider housing for adults with developmental disabilities starting at 9:30 a.m. Starting at 2:30 p.m., the planning committee considers the White Flint 2 Sector Plan.
