Here are five things to know today, Oct. 23, in Montgomery County, Maryland:

1. Be Your Own Boss: Learn about the programs and services available to entrepreneurs at a session from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the East County Regional Services Center, 3300 Briggs Chaney Road, Silver Spring. Learn about small businesses in Montgomery County, entrepreneurship support for women and small business training and loans: Latino Economic Development Center

2. Cell Tower Meeting:  County Executive Ike Leggett is requesting public input on a proposal to revise the county’s zoning code to address small antennas on streetlights and lower-height buildings. The meeting will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Council Office Building, 100 Maryland Avenue, 3rd Floor Hearing Room Rockville.

3. Takoma Park Votes: An election forum with candidates, hosted by the Takoma Voice and Takoma Radio, takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center Auditorium.

4. Gaithersburg Votes: Today is the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming Gaithersburg city election.

5. White Flint 2: The Montgomery County Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee will consider the White Flint 2 Master Plan at 1:55 p.m. in the Council Office Buidling’s Seventh Floor Hearing Room.
