Here’s five things to know today, Nov. 9, in Montgomery County:

1. School close early: It is the end of the first marking period for the public schools, students are dismissed after lunch.

2. Flu Vaccination Clinics: Health and Human Services host three free flu vaccine clinics for school age children from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The clinics are located at Kennedy, Northwest and Rockville High Schools. Registration is required and may be done by calling 311 or online, here.

3. Planning Board meets: The Planning Board meets today and on the agenda is a proposal to buy land for a new park in Bethesda. See the full agenda, here.

4. Council Committees meet: Topics under consideration include a pop-up job center for the eastern area of the County, a bill to ban the use of performance animals, and an update on efforts to end chronic homelessness. More information, here.
