Five Things to Know for Monday, Jan. 29, in Montgomery County

Monday’s rundown of five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. Homelessness Meeting: Councilmember George Leventhal, the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board, service providers and others will hold a community dialogue on homelessness starting at 7 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building.

2. Budget Forum: County Executive Ike Leggett holds a budget forum starting at 7 p.m. at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown. The forum gives the public a chance to tell Leggett what should be budget priorities in the budget he proposes on March 15.

3. Annapolis Legislation: Montgomery County Councilmembers meet today at 12:30 p.m. to discuss bills lawmakers are taking up at the State House. The meeting is in the Third Floor Conference Room.

4. Coffee With a Cop: From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., officers from the Bethesda police district will be meeting members of the public at the Dunkin Donuts at 11530 Rockville Pike. Silver Spring police district officers will be meeting the public from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McDonalds at 11146 New Hampshire Ave.
