Five Things to Know for Dec. 5 in Montgomery County

Here are five things to know for Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Montgomery County:

1. Board of Education Meeting: Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jack Smith will discuss the framework of his Fiscal Year 2019 Operating Budget recommendations.

2. DACA Recipients:  A resolution urging the Federal Government to extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for all nations currently included in the program, and to establish a pathway to permanent residency for TPS and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients will be introduced by Councilmembers George Leventhal and Nancy Navarro during today’s council session.

Pollution Prevention: The Montgomery County Council will hold a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. on a special appropriation to MNCPPC’s Fiscal Year 18 Capital Budget and amendment to the FY 17-22 Capital Improvements Program asking for $100,000 for pollution prevention and repairs to ponds and lakes.
