Happy Wednesday! Here are five things you need to know today, Aug. 22, in Montgomery County:

1. Rain is on the Forecast: Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible today as a cold front crosses the area, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Katie Ledecky: The Washington Nationals will hold a special ‘Swim Night with Katie Ledecky’ today as the Nats take on the Philadelphia Phillies. Ledecky will join the team at Nationals Park.

3. Fifth Annual School Supplies Drive: Realtors from the Rhonda Mortensen Team of Long & Foster will host its fifth annual back to school supplies drive at Denizens Brewing Company in Silver Spring today.

4. Speaking of School Supplies Drive: Today is the last day to donate school supplies for the City of Rockville’s annual Back to School Jam.

5. Seventh Grade Immunization Clinics: The first day of school will be here in less than two weeks, and there’s still time for incoming seventh-grade students to receive free Tdap and MCV4 vaccinations at various locations throughout the county.  Click here for a list of dates and times.
