Here are five things you need to know for Tuesday, Aug. 21, in Montgomery County:

1. Backpack Donations: The city of Rockville is still taking donations for its Back to School Jam this Friday.  Details here.

2. Robert White: Showing Up for Racial Justice Montgomery County will host a community event to discuss the details surrounding the shooting death of Robert White with county leaders.  The event will take place at the Civic Center in Silver Spring and begins at 6:00 p.m.

3. School Supplies Drive: Country Place Apartments in Olney is collecting school supplies for students. Staff is asking residents to bring supplies to the leasing office by Aug. 25th.

4. School Year Priorities Discussed: Montgomery County Board of Education President, Michael Durso, discusses the School Board’s priorities for the upcoming school year.

5. Zumba on the Plaza: Instructors from Onelife Fitness in Rockville will lead residents through a Zumba class free of charge tonight on the Lakefront Plaza, near Uncle Julio’s.  The event will take place at 209 Boardwalk Place in Gaithersburg.
