Here are five things to know for Monday, April 30, in Montgomery County:

1. Polar Discussion: A panel of speakers will discuss whether American politics is becoming more polarized. The discussion, hosted by Rockville Resistance, takes place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive. For more information, see Facebook.

2. Some Latitude for Some Volunteers: The Gaithersburg Community Museum is seeking volunteers to staff events held at the Latitude Observatory. 3. Feeding the Hungry: The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, at the Universities at Shady Grove, is hosting a fundraiser as part of the Campus Kitchens Project, a national leader in community service for students devoted to hunger relief. The students use their prowess to create nutritious meals for residents of The Dwelling Place of Gaithersburg, lead workshops to teach basic cooking skills and advocate for hunger awareness in Montgomery County.
