Five Things to Know for Wednesday, Jan. 31, in Montgomery County

Here’s five things to know today, Jan. 31, in Montgomery County:

1. Super Blue Blood Moon: After 166 years, a lunar event called a “Super Blue Blood Moon,” will take place between 6:30 and 7:15 in the morning.

2. Hypothermia Alert: Montgomery County has extended the hypothermia alert until noon.

3. State of the State: Gov. Larry Hogan will deliver his State of the State Address in Annapolis.

4. FY 2019 Budget Forum Continues: County Executive Ike Leggett will hold his fourth budget forum starting at 7 p.m. at the East County Regional Services Center. The forum gives the public a chance to tell Leggett what should be budget priorities in the budget he proposes on March 15.

 5. Interactive Self-Sufficiency Launch: Join the Community Action Board for the launch of Community Action and CountyStat’s new interactive Self-Sufficiency Standard website, a powerful tool to focus attention on challenges facing Montgomery County’s low income residents.
