1. Government shutdown: According to The Washington Post, the shutdown will end today; the House passes a budget bill the President promises to sign.
2. HBCU College Fair: The 10th annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair takes place today at Albert Einstein High School. The fair is open to all county students in Grades 8-12 and their families.

3. World Bazaar: This bazaar includes an international market and food, live music and dance performances at the Silver Spring Civic Building from 5 to 10 p.m. Find details, here.
4. NOAA open house: The Silver Spring Campus of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Silver Spring is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 10. Meet and talk with scientists, weather forecasters, hurricane hunter pilots, and others, who work to understand our environment.
