Here are five things you need to know today, Wednesday, Feb. 28 in Montgomery County:
1. County Executive Forum: Montgomery County Black Business Council will hold a candidate forum for county executive candidates.
2. Purple Line: MCDOT will hold a public hearing to consider public comments for the creation of multiple new Residential Permit Parking Areas (RPPAs) in Silver Spring.
3. Planning Department Speaker Series: Ethan Kent, Senior Vice President of Project for Public Spaces (PPS) in New York City, has traveled to more than 800 cities and 55 countries to advance the cause of placemaking and public spaces. He will speak about placemaking as a strategy for economic development in the suburbs.
4. Biotech Forum: Montgomery County Councilmember George Leventhal will host a Biotech Forum to bring together leading minds to discuss the conditions in Montgomery County that foster a thriving biotech industry and opportunities for expansion in the coming years.
