The National Weather Service expects a third day of 90 degrees or above temperatures. Here are five things to know for Friday, May 4, in Montgomery County:

1. Safety Tips for Heat: Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Captain Thomas Potter provides tips for surviving the heat in this short video.

2. County Council T&E Committee meets: The Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy & Environment Committee continues their budget work with a full agenda.

3. Purple Line Work: Lane closures are scheduled for the Lyttonsville Place Bridge today, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for overhead electrical work.

4. Art Walk in the Park: The Glen Echo Park Partnership hosts open studios and artist demonstrations in the Park’s many visual arts studios and galleries today from 6 to 8 p.m.

5. May the Fourth be with You Weekend: It’s Stars Wars Weekend at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn which kicks off with a film and brew party tonight at 6 p.m. Activities planned throughout the weekend.
