Here are five things to know for Wednesday,  May 30, in Montgomery County:

1. Funeral Arrangements for Takoma Park Police Officer: Funeral Arrangements have been set for Takoma Park Police Acting Detective Sergeant Matthew Barber, who died suddenly Thursday. Visitation for Det. Barber will be held today in Frederick, Maryland.

2. The Law Enforcement Torch Run: The Montgomery County Police Department will hold its Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Maryland at Lake Needwood, located at 6700 Needwood Road in Derwood. Runners, walkers, and bicyclists are all welcome and participants can choose their distance length.

4. White Oak Senior Center Health Fair: The African American Health Program will host a senior center health fair at the White Oak Community Recreation Center, located at 1700 April Lane in Silver Spring.

5. Mental Health First Aid Training: Learn how to help a friend, family member, co-worker, or neighbor in need by becoming a Mental Health First Aider. This training opportunity will teach you how to recognize the signs of crisis and seek help. Training will take place at the Germantown Library Branch.
