Five Things to Know for May 2 in Montgomery County

Here are five things to know for Wednesday, May 2, in Montgomery County:

1. MCPD Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Service: The Montgomery County Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the Maryland-National Capital Park Police will honor fallen officers at the annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Service. The memorial will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Public Safety Headquarters located at 100 Edison Park Drive in Gaithersburg.

2. Girls Empowering Moment: Montgomery County’s Recreation Department is hosting a girl empowering moment in the lounge of the Gwendolyn Coffield Recreation Center to help participants enhance their leadership skills. The recreation center is located at 2450 Lyttonsville Road in Silver Spring. For more information, click here.
