Here are five things to know for Thursday, May 10, in Montgomery County:
1. Budget Work: The Montgomery County Council has a session at 10 a.m. and one of the main agenda items is taking action on the budget consent calendar for the fiscal 2019 budget. The consent calendar typically means all issues have been reviewed and resolved in the Council’s committees for that portion of the budget. You can find the list of items here.
2. Aquatics Community Meeting: Share your thoughts and ideas for improving county recreation programs and facilities with aquatics supervisor Carrie Headen at Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center from 9 – 11 a.m.

3. Virtual Town Hall Meeting: County Executive Ike Leggett will answer questions submitted online today from 1 – 2 p.m.
4. Graduation Celebration: Governor Larry Hogan is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at The Universities at Shady Grove graduation tonight at 7 p.m.; watch the live stream, here.
5. New Traffic Signals Installed in Bethesda: The county recently installed Bethesda’s first all-pedestrian traffic signals at Arlington Road and Bethesda Avenue. Pedestrians may now safely cross the intersection with traffic stopped in all directions.
And one more thing… May 7-11 is Teacher Appreciation Week. A great teacher can change lives.
