2. Beltway lane closure: closed Friday nightThree lanes of the Capital Beltway will be as construction crews resurface the bridge deck over Kensington Parkway. Officials expect significant backups.

3. Juneteenth: Montgomery County’s Juneteenth Celebration starts at 6 p.m. at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown. Organizers plan an event with entertainment, inspiration, education and good food. Juneteenth commemorates the day that Union General Gordon Granger and 2,000 federal troops freed the enslaved people of Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865. His announcement came after the official issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln.
