1. Atlantic Hurricane Season: County officials provide safety tips to prepare for hurricanes and severe summer storms.
2. Blackmail Bitcoin Scam: Montgomery police alerts county residents not to be taken in by this scam.
3. Pool Safety focus: The 8th annual free Water Safety Day takes place from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Water Park in Gaithersburg and will include informational booths, lifeguard demonstrations and free swim lesson screenings designed to promote water safety. For the first time, the Wheaton-Glenmont pool offers a Water Safety Day event Saturday, June 2 from 5 to 7 p.m.

4. Busy day for graduations: Damascus High School will graduate its seniors at 9 a.m. on the athletic field, weather permitting. Wheaton High’s ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at DAR Constitution Hall. Col. Zadok Magruder High School, Rockville, will graduate its seniors at 2:30 p.m. at DAR Constitution Hall. The speaker will be Jason Kravits, a Magruder alumni and an award-winning actor.
