Five Things to Know for July 5 in Montgomery County
Here are five things to know for Thursday, July 5, in Montgomery County:
1. The Count Continues: The Montgomery County Board of Elections continues counting ballots at 10 a.m. when members check about 3,000 provisional ballots. About 150 votes separate Councilmember Marc Elrich and former health care executive David Blair in the county executive’s race.
2. Vaccinations: Free Tdap and MCV4 vaccinations take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Germantown Health Center, 12900 Middlebrook Road, 2nd Floor. Students entering seventh grade need the shots. No appointment is necessary. A parent or designated adult must be present. Please bring a copy of the child’s immunization record to the clinic.
3. Tai Chi: The Long Branch Library at 8800 Garland Ave., Silver Spring, is offering a tai chi class, which is excellent for mental and physical health and helps prevent falls.
4. Talented: MoCo’s Got Talent performs at Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring starting at 7 p.m.
5. Reading on the Go: Montgomery County Public Libraries have an extensive collection of e-books.
