3. Plaza in Olde Towne: City officials celebrate the opening of Olde Towne Plaza located adjacent to the B&O Railroad Station and Freight Shed with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:45 a.m.

4. Summer Concerts: The Plate Scrapers closes out the Evenings in Olde Towne summer concert series 6 p.m. at the City Hall Concert Pavilion, at 31 South Summit Avenue. Concerts return Sept. 6 with 49¢ Dress. Also, in Downtown Silver Spring, Route 66 perform at the Silver Spring Summer concert series from 7-9 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building on Veterans Plaza, One Veterans Place.

5. Meet the Artists:: Two new exhibits are on display at the Kentlands Mansion and the Arts Barn in Gaithersburg. A public reception takes place at the Arts Barn from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
