Five Things to Know for July 12 in Montgomery County

Here are five things to know for Thursday, July 12, in Montgomery County:

1. County’s Composting Plan: The County’s composting and food waste plan are expected to be discussed during Montgomery County Council’s Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy, and Environment Committee meeting. Here’s the agenda. 

2. Garden Gatherings Ribbon Cutting Ceremony:  Join City of Gaithersburg elected officials for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the enhanced outdoor garden that now features a water fountain, flowering trees and a flagstone walkway. The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Kentlands Mansion, located at 320 Kent Square Road.

3. Montgomery College Math and Science Building: Residents will have the chance to voice their opinions on the new math and science building being constructed at Montgomery College Takoma Park Silver Spring Campus to school leaders and architects. RSVP by clicking here.

4. Summer Concerts: There are two concerts tonight. Enjoy Rock & Roll from Gary and the Groove during the Silver Spring Summer Concert Series at Veterans Plaza, or enjoy the sounds of Reggae from the Oasis Island Sounds during  Bethesda’s Summer Concert Series  at Veterans Park.
