Here are five things to know today, Dec. 1, in Montgomery County:
1. Hoggle Case: It’s been over three years since siblings Sarah (7) and Jacob (5) Hoggle disappeared from their Clarksburg home in Sept. of 2014. Their mother, Catherine Hoggle, was charged with their murder in September. A status hearing is scheduled for a Rockville courtroom today.
2. Poolesville Celebration: Poolesville’s 12th Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony takes place tonight and will include visits with Santa, wagon rides, cookie decorating, ice carving demonstration, skating rink, musical and dance performances and food trucks.
3. State Football Championship: The Quince Orchard Cougars play Wise Pumas for the 4A state football title in Annapolis tonight.
4. World AIDS Day: Montgomery County’s African American Health Program hosts a discussion on the past, present and future of HIV at the East County Community Recreation Center.
5. County Executive’s Ball: The County Executive’s Ball takes place Dec. 3 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center and all funds raised help support arts education in Montgomery County.
