Five Things to Know for Aug. 2 in Montgomery County
Here are five things you need to know for Thursday, Aug. 2, in Montgomery County:
1. Weather Alert: Keep an eye on the weather today as the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch through tonight for the entire D.C. metro region.
2. Germantown Road Reopens: Montgomery County Transportation Department completed the repairs to Father Hurley Boulevard. The road was closed between Beaconfield Terrace to Wynfield Drive July 22nd when heavy rains caused a large hole.
3. Police Release Body Camera Video: Montgomery County police have released the body camera footage of the June 11 officer involved shooting resulting in the death of a Silver Spring man.
4. Montgomery County’s First Shake Shack: The Liquor Board has a hearing scheduled today at 1 p.m. to review the restaurant’s application for a liquor license. Bethesda Beat reports Shake Shack is scheduled to open in September in The Cabin John Shopping Center.
5. Summer Concert: Josh Christina performs in Downtown Silver Spring as part of the Silver Spring Summer concert series from 7-9 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building on Veterans Plaza, One Veterans Place.
