Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services dispatched units to contain a brush fire that burned about three acres at Clopper Road near Cinnamon Drive in Germantown.

Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said the fire was started by a downed power line. He said three fire trucks and a two “brush” units were operating on scene.

Some lanes on Clopper Road were blocked as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, Piringer said. The fire is now out and units are working to clear the scene, he said.

I was driving down on Clopper Road and up top the wires was going crazy. So I pull over to call 911, then I sent over to the Fire Department to report the wire and the fire that went over the street. It was scary and I glad to call the fire department.
