Firefighters Battle Scrap Pile Fire on Southlawn Lane, Road Closure
Dozens of firefighters are on the scene of a scrap pile fire on Southlawn Lane in Rockville, according to a Montgomery County fire official.
On his Twitter account, Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer said over three dozen firefighters responded to the blaze that involved multiple vehicles and other materials.
According to Piringer, the fire has been contained using heavy foam and equipment.
There is a road closure because of the fire. Southlawn Lane is closed between Avery Road and East Gude Drive because of the fire department’s activity.
