Firefighters Battle House Fire in Darnestown (PHOTO)
UPDATED Montgomery County firefighters battled a house fire in the 14000 block of Plainfield Lane in Darnestown on Wednesday night.
According to Fire Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the fire originated in the chimney and extended into the walls and floors. Firefighters said there was smoke showing when they pulled up to the house.
Because this is a non-hydrant area, tanker trucks were dispatched to provide firefighters with water to fight the fire.
There were no injuries.
Piringer said four people are displaced from the house because of the blaze. He said damages are estimated at $275,000.
