Fire Causes $750,000 in Damage Overnight in Silver Spring (PHOTOS)

bombay1UPDATED Montgomery County firefighters are investigating what sparked a two-alarm fire at 8401 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring overnight.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service Spokesperson Pete Piringer said 100 firefighters responded to the blaze at 1 a.m. on March 19. Piringer said one firefighter was injured, slightly burned.

According to Piringer, a dozen residents have been displaced by the fire.

Piringer said damage is estimated at $750,000 and extends to several businesses. He identified the businesses as the Bombay Gaylord restaurant, Mandarin Chinese restaurant and the Quarry House Tavern.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
