Fenton Village’s Taste the World Event Now Take-Out Only

Fenton Village’s 10th anniversary of the Taste the World celebration in Silver Spring will take place from Sunday, May 17 through Saturday, May 23.

Due to Gov. Larry Hogan’s executive order, people can only order take-out from the restaurants, instead of dining in. The event will feature more than two dozen local restaurants. The goal for the event is to bring people together to celebrate authentic ethnic food and small independent restaurant owners, according to the county.

“While we can’t have the usual street festival, we can still celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Taste the World of Fenton Village.  This year, you have an entire week to check out some of the great offerings in Fenton Village,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “Fenton Village is a welcoming community made up of hard-working small businesses owners who have always planned special menus and tastings to make this a great experience for attendees and that tradition continues this year. I hope everyone, who is able, will join the event at least one time during the week.”

Instead of having traditional food tastings, the event is now a week long so that people have the opportunity to try different foods. Anyone who orders food from one of the participating restaurants will receive a raffle ticket to win three, $50 “Fenton Village Bucks” to be used when people are allowed to dine in. Customers can enter the raffle by completing a form for each restaurant they ordered from, according to the county.
