February is Craft Beer Lovers Month in Montgomery County (PHOTO)

Councilmember Hans Riemer along with members of the Montgomery County Council on Tuesday declared February craft beer lovers month in Montgomery County. The proclamation comes after Governor Hogan made a similar declaration in early February.

Julie Verratti, co-owner of Denizens Brewing Company in Silver Spring, spoke on behalf of brewing companies in the County.

“Montgomery County is hands down the most brewery friendly district in the area. We’ve got a better regulatory environment than DC and our friends in Virginia and I think it shows a lot about what folks in the government are doing. When you buy local beer your are not only supporting the economy but also the environment and local jobs,” Verratti said.
