Fatal Car Crash

Montgomery County police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Oct. 29 in Germantown.

Police said at approximately 11:38 a.m., officers from the 5th District and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Frederick Road and Brink Road for a report of a personal injury collision involving two vehicles.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a gray 2005 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling southbound on Frederick Road and a maroon 2003 Jaguar sedan was traveling northbound on Frederick Road.

For reasons still under investigation, police said, the Nissan crossed the double yellow center line and struck the Jaguar. The driver of the Jaguar was pronounced deceased on the scene of the collision, police said. The two occupants of the Nissan were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police have identified the driver of the Jaguar as Mai Ai Lam-Phan, age 66, of Clarksburg. The driver of the Nissan is identified as Joshua Jose Munoz, age 19, of Germantown, police said. Police identified the passenger in the Nissan as Caleb Emiliano Munoz, age 16, also of Germantown.

The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed this collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620. Callers may remain anonymous.
