Fatal Accident Closes Portion of Muncaster Mill Road
UPDATED Montgomery County police and fire rescue units responded to a serious, multi-vehicle crash in the 7900 block of Muncaster Mill Road around 2:24 p.m. on Jan. 24.
On his Twitter account, Assistant Fire Chief Scott Graham said two vehicles were involved and two pedestrians were struck. Graham said a total of five patients were transported to area hospitals.
Tonight, police report on Twitter that one pedestrian was killed and the other remains in critical condition. Both drivers and one passenger were transported with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
According to police, Muncaster Mill Road between Shady Grove Road and Woodfield Road will remain closed while the accident investigation is underway.
Police said speed appears to be a factor in this crash.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
