Face Coverings Not Required For Vaccinated Residents in Most County Facilities

This week the county updated guidance for face coverings in local government buildings.

“Wearing a mask in most county offices and facilities is voluntary in most situations for people who are fully vaccinated,” said Montgomery County Executive during his weekly virtual media briefing on Wednesday.

Face coverings are still required in county buildings that offer health services, such as the Crisis Center, dental clinics, correctional facilities, and homeless shelters, according to officials. Businesses and workplaces can still choose to require face masks.

Elrich explains what this new guidance means for unvaccinated residents.

The county’s new face-covering guidance is consistent with current state policy and CDC guidance.
