The World of Montgomery Festival celebrates the diverse cultural heritages which play an active role in the lives of Montgomery County residents and communities. The festival showcases this rich diversity through food, music, dance, traditional arts and hands-on projects for children and families.

This year’s festival, organized by the KID Museum (Kids International Discovery Museum), will focus on the “Essentials of Life” with a fun and educational exploration of the importance and use of water around the world; an expanded Global Kitchen, with local chefs demonstrating traditional dishes from around the globe and hands-on cooking projects for kids; a series of art projects reflecting on the bonds of family, culture and celebrations; and several service projects addressing needs locally and internationally.

The festival also will include immersive exhibits focusing on four countries with some of the largest immigrant populations in Montgomery County: China, El Salvador, Ethiopia, and India. Each country will be showcased in a large tent with artifacts, photographs and demonstrations of traditional arts. The day will also feature a wide range of music, dance and cultural performances on two stages, and numerous hands-on activities for children and families and an international craft market presented by Fenton Street Market.

Visit World of Montgomery website for more information and to plan your visit.
