Elrich: ‘We Still Have Not Received Any Guidance From the State Regarding Non-Public Schools’

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich says the county still has not received any state guidance regarding the reopening of non-public schools. County leaders continue to stress that it’s not safe for schools to reopen with in-person learning amid the COVID-19 health crisis.

While some private schools are already back in session, Montgomery County Public Schools students will begin online virtual learning on Monday. Elrich says hopefully guidance will come soon for non-public schools so the county can evaluate plans and make sure state and CDC guidelines are being met. Like the protocol for local businesses, the county will also report citations and closures if issued to schools.
