Delayed: Montgomery County Officials to Provide Coronavirus Update Thursday

Update, March 12, 2:10 p.m.: County Executive Marc Elrich will hold a news conference to announce the latest coronavirus developments at 6 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. Thursday. The news conference will livestream on Facebook and the county’s website.

Update, March 12: County Executive Marc Elrich will hold a news conference to announce the latest coronavirus developments at 3 p.m. Thursday. The news conference will livestream on Facebook and the county’s website. The livestream scheduled for 1 p.m. is canceled.

Update, March 11:  Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will host a livestream with County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles on Thursday,  March 12 at 1 p.m. The livestream will begin with an update on coronavirus from Gayles.

The update will be livestreamed on the County’s Facebook page and it replaces the monthly online chat for March.

This live, online discussion gives residents a chance to send questions, or comments, directly to County Executive Elrich.

You may submit questions to the county executive before and during the online event at Live Discussion with County Executive Marc Elrich.

The questions that the county executive is unable to answer during the online chat will be answered by him separately. Please click here to submit your unanswered question.

Elrich received 11 questions during his last online chat, which took place Jan. 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. Topics included jobs, increasing the tax base, litter in downtown Silver Spring, transportation, tree replacement, smoking on Ride On buses, and the relocation of the Crabbs Branch school bus depot.
