Education Goes Virtual at Stone Ridge School

With schools closed because of the coronavirus pandemic, teachers have had to do a complete 180 on their lesson plans for the rest of the academic year.

Teachers are suddenly having to create online curriculums with little notice. It’s a challenge, but teachers at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda are rising to the occasion.

Montgomery County Public Schools has been offline since March 16 and is set to launch online learning on Monday. Stone Ridge students, kindergarten through 12th grade, have been practicing “Virtual Learning” in their homes since March 17.

Urvi Shah, the director of educational technology at Stone Ridge, gave MyMCMedia a glimpse at what virtual learning looks like at the all-girls Catholic school: 

Like Montgomery County Public Schools, Stone Ridge will continue educating students virtually until at least April 24.
