Early Voting Results Heavy for Incumbents

For the incumbents early voters were a friendly bunch.

County Executive Ike Leggett got 50 percent of the early votes in his bid to hold onto his seat netting a total of 8,114. Democratic challengers Doug Duncan got 4,525 early votes to Phil Andrews 3,403.

In the race for the at-large seat on the Montgomery County Council challenger Beth Daly is in fifth place behind all four incumbents. She’s got 7,541 early votes or 14 percent. Marc Elrich leads the pack in that race with 10,710. Challenger Vivian Malloy netted 5,284 early votes.

Roger Berliner in the council’s district 1 race, has a commanding lead among the early voters with 79 percent of the votes over Duchy Trachtenberg. In the District 2 county council race Craig L. Rice holds 78 percent of the early votes over challenger Neda Bolourian.
