Downtown Crown Looking into Cause of Parking Garage Flood

Officials with Downtown Crown, Gaithersburg’s newest live-work downtown, are looking into what caused one of the garages for the shopping area to flood last weekend.

On June 20 as a major thunderstorm swept through Montgomery County, the north garage became flooded with what was descibed by one driver as ankle-deep water.

Liza C. Gonzales, general manager for RPAI US Management LLC, the property management company for Downtown Crown,  released the following statment:

“We are aware of the storm situation that caused excessive water in the garage and have ensured that there was no property damage or personal injury. We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers and are working to determine the cause of this unusual occurrence.”

John Schlichting, director of the Planning and Code Department for the City of Gaithersburg, said his office did not receive any complaints about the incident.
