Doug Duncan Issues Statement Following Chamber Debate

A candidate for the office of county executive, Doug Duncan participated in a debate on March 7 hosted by the Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce. Following the debate, he released the statement, below:

“I’m very disappointed that our County leaders didn’t take the opportunity during the B-CC Chamber debate this morning to provide answers to basic questions about the Silver Spring Transit Center. Residents and commuters deserve to know when the transit center will open; how much additional money it will cost to get the job done; what is the detailed plan to fix the center; and whether the facility will be safe once it is open. The Silver Spring community has fought too long and hard for a vibrant downtown to have to wait for this mess to be cleaned up, and it’s time the county stepped up and finally made this right.”
