Domestic Violence Awareness Month (Photo)

domesticviolenceThe Montgomery County Council on Oct. 15 urged all County residents to do their part to stop domestic violence.

The ceremonies in Rockville, which declared October as “Stop Domestic Violence Month,” also saluted the efforts of the County’s Rockville-based Family Justice Center—a one-stop facility that can provide victims and families with a variety of help and services during trying times.

At the ceremonies were, left to right: State’s Attorney John McCarthy; Board of Education member Shirley Brandman; Resa Levy, executive director of the Family Justice Center Foundation; County Sheriff Darren Popkin; Daryl Leach, director of the Family Justice Center; Tom Manion, program manager at the Family Justice Center; Assistant Police Chief Russ Hamill; Chief Deputy Sheriff Mark Bonano; and County Councilmember Phil Andrews.
